Wanna Say Something??
A judgment-free inbox for anonymous messages, opinions, and confessions.
Overview
A platform where anyone can share a personal link and receive anonymous messages — built for honest expression without the pressure of identity. It ships as both a web app and a native Android app on a shared backend.
The problem
Young people especially lack a safe, low-stakes space to say what they think. Attaching identity to every message chills honesty; the goal was a fresh take on anonymity that still lets recipients reply.
Architecture
- Clients: React web app (Share your link, read and reply); Android app (Native, in Java)
- (REST) Backend: Node / Express API (Link inboxes, anonymous sends, replies)
- Data: MongoDB (Users and messages)
The web and Android apps share one backend, so inboxes and replies are the same everywhere.
Approach
Link-based inboxes
Each user gets a shareable profile link; anyone with the link can send an anonymous message, no account required to send.
Reply without unmasking
Recipients can respond to messages while senders stay anonymous, keeping a two-way conversation without breaking the promise of anonymity.
Web + native Android
A React web client and a native Android app share the same Node/Express + MongoDB backend, so the experience is consistent across surfaces.
Highlights
- Anonymous, link-based inboxes
