Drive Hub
Upload a file, get a short link, share it anywhere.
Overview
A file-sharing app that uploads your files to cloud storage and hands back a short URL you can share — no account gymnastics, just upload and send.
The problem
Sharing a file usually means email attachments with size limits or clunky cloud UIs. DriveHub reduces the whole thing to: drop a file, copy a short link.
Architecture
- Client: React + Chakra UI (Pick a file, watch the upload)
- (upload) Services: Firebase Storage (Holds the files); Node / Express API (Creates the short share link)
- Data: MongoDB (Short links)
The file goes to cloud storage; what you share is a short link to it.
Approach
Straight-through upload
Files go to Firebase storage with visible upload progress, from landing page to shareable link in a few steps.
Short share URLs
Each upload gets a shortened link, so what you send is tidy and easy to paste anywhere.
A minimal React UI
A React + Chakra UI flow keeps the path from file to link short and obvious.
Highlights
- Firebase-backed uploads with progress
- Auto-generated short share links
- Clean, minimal React UI
- Live deployment
